    Taproom & Retail Store Server – The Brewery (Etobicoke)

    20 to 30 hours / week (Thursday & Friday 1-7pm, & Saturday 11-6pm)
    Pay: $17.75 – $19.00 / hour + tips

    Summary

    The Taproom & Retail Store Server – The Brewery (Etobicoke), will primarily be responsible for ensuring effective day-to-day operations of the Brewery Taproom & Retail Store. They will strive to achieve sales targets while remaining within budget in all aspects of the job. Additionally, event hosting, line cleaning and inventory management will be required.

    Job Duties

    • Responsible for maintaining a consistently high level of customer service as outlined by Silversmith Brewing Company, this includes talking to customers to monitor their experiences.
    • Greet and handle all guest interaction with a high-level of professionalism and hospitality.
    • Responsible for hosting regular weekend brewery tours on site at the facility; providing a high level of customer service in showcasing both our products and the brand itself with the beer production.
    • Resolve all customer complaints as per Silversmith Brewing Company procedures.
    • Strive to achieve sales targets while respecting Silversmith Brewing Company budget during day-to-day operations.
    • Monitor and modify bar pricing and procedures as required. This includes updating the menus and any point-of-sale systems to reflect on any changes.
    • Ensure bar and staff compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations and Silversmith Brewing Company policies. This includes Safe Food Handling policies and procedures, as well as Health and Safety Legislation.
    • Ensure that the facility consistently meets Silversmith Brewing Company and legislative cleanliness and safety standards; this includes routine daily or weekly cleaning of the draught taps, fridges, entranceway, bar, and bathroom(s).
    • Ensure that all relevant operational paperwork is posted as per legislated requirements.
    • Ensure that the proper pouring procedures are utilized in compliance with Silversmith Brewing Company operating procedures.
    • Oversee training of new servers and event staff (if necessary)
    • Prepare staff schedules to ensure adequate staffing (when duties call for additional staffing).
    • Monitor & manage the brewery taproom & retail inventory with support from Head Brewer.
    • Ensure that the facility consistently meets Silversmith Brewing Company standards throughout daily operations. This includes ensuring that all stations are fully equipped at the beginning and end of shifts.
    • Ensure that all cash-variances are handled immediately as per Silversmith Brewing Company procedures.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    • Minimum of two (2) years of serving or bartending experience in the food service industry.
    • Responsible beverage service certification is required (valid smart serve – 2025/2026)
    • Ability to work flexible shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, as required.
    • Ability to work under pressure while complying with all relevant legislation.
    • Strong beverage knowledge & education of brands available at retail required.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, customer service, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills.
    • Experience with monitoring and controlling inventory.
    • Familiarity with Square (POS) will be considered an asset.

    Work Conditions

    • Interacts with customers, employees and management.
    • Will work flexible shifts. (afternoon/evenings & weekends)
    • Overtime may be required at times (more than 44 hours in a week)
    • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and point-of-sale system, as required.
    • Lifting or moving up to 50lbs may be required.
